Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM):
13-16 October 2009
The Energy Training Foundation (ETF) in conjunction with the
Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in the USA is presenting
a 4-day Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM) program that
is designed to provide recognition for professionals who have
distinguished themselves as leaders in the growing field of
carbon reduction. The designation CRM identifies individuals
who have demonstrated high levels of technical expertise in
energy management and environmental practices.
The 4-day Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM) program,
which will be followed by an optional exam to become a
Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM), will be held during
the week of 13-16 October 2009 at Birchwood Executive Hotel and
Conference Centre, Johannesburg. The optional examination will
take place on Friday, 16 October 2009.
Program Objectives:
- To raise the professional standards of those engaged in
carbon reduction.
- To improve the practice of carbon reduction by
encouraging energy business professionals in a continuing
education program of professional development.
- To identify persons with acceptable knowledge of the
principles practices of carbon reduction professionals
through completing an examination and fulfilling prescribed
standards of performance and conduct.
- To award special recognition to those individuals who
have demonstrated a high level of competence and ethical
fitness for carbon reduction.
Eligibility:
- The prerequisites to qualify for the certification
process have been designed to take into account the
possible diversity of education and practical experience an
individual may have. However each CRM candidate must meet
the following criteria:
- A four-year Degree in Engineering, Architecture,
Business or related field of study OR current Certified
Energy Manager (CEM) in good standing.
- Receipt of a passing score on the CRM examination.
Examination and Training Requirement:
All CRM candidates must attend Certified Carbon Reduction
Manager four-day training program and complete and pass a
four-hour written examination. Examination questions are based
on concepts such as:
- Carbon Audit
- Emissions Reporting/Verification
- Emissions Conversions
- Energy Efficiency Technologies
- Renewable Energy Sources and Green Power
- Fleet Management
- Emissions Trading
- Recycling and Water
- Financing and Marketing
On day four, the Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM)
program examination will be administered to seminar
participants who have applied and pre-registered for the exam
in advance.
There is no obligation to write the Certified CRM exam on
the last day of the 4-day training course. Persons who are
interested in attending only the energy management course are
free to do so. It is preferred that you register in advance if
you want to write the CRM exam and submit your CRM application.
However, if you decided not to write the CRM exam but change
your mind during the course to write the exam we will
accommodate you. You will then have to submit the CRM
application afterwards. Persons attending the CRM Course will
receive a certificate of attendance.
What are the costs involved?
The costs are the following:
4- Day CRM course, Textbooks for 4-day CRM course, Exam and
Registration: R 13 500 excl vat
It is important to note that full payments will have to be
received at least one month in advance. If you are
interested in attending the 4-day course and write the exam, we
should have received your payment by 11 September 2009.
Please note: It will be the responsibility of the course
participants to book their own accommodation, breakfast and
dinner. Lunch will however be provided. A list of accommodation
possibilities will be forwarded to you with confirmation of
attendance.
