Certified Energy Manager Course (CEM): 12-16 Oct 2009 (Birchwood Executive Hotel and Conference Centre, Jhb)


The Energy Training Foundation (ETF) in conjunction with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in the USA is presenting a 5-day comprehensive energy management training course. This Certified Energy Management (CEM) programme that has been presented in Southern Africa since 2002. The Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Course has been CPD (Continuous Professional Development) accredited and will earn you 5.0 credits.


The 5-day energy management-training course, which will be followed by an optional exam to become a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), will be held during the week of 12-16 Oct 2009 at Birchwood Executive Hotel and Conference Centre, Johannesburg.  The optional examination will take place on Friday, 16 October 2009.


This special in-depth five-day seminar is ideal for professionals who seek a more detailed program of instruction covering the technical, economic and regulatory aspects of effective energy management. On the morning of day five, the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) examination will be administered to seminar participants who have applied and pre-registered for the exam in advance.


There is no obligation to write the CEM exam on the last day of the 5-day training course. Persons who are interested in attending only the 5-day energy management are free to do so. 

It is preferred that you register in advance if you want to write the CEM exam and submit your CEM application.  However, if you decided not to write the CEM exam but change your mind during the course to write the exam we will accommodate you.  You will then have to submit the CEM application afterwards. Persons attending the 5-day CEM Course will receive a certificate of attendance.

What are the costs involved?
The costs are the following:

5 Day CEM course:  R 9 850 excl vat
Textbooks for 5-day CEM course: R 3 500 excl vat
Exam and Registration:  R 2 600 excl vat

It is important to note that full payments will have to be received at least one month in advance. If you are interested in attending the 5-day course and write the exam, we should have received your payment by 11 September 2009.


Please note: It will be the responsibility of the course participants to book their own accommodation, breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be provided.
